Be Kind

I saw this yesterday and it couldn’t have spoken louder to me. It is SO important for to me to remember to be kind, no matter what. I struggle w/ that. I’m not outright mean…I tend to hold it in more and it affects me to a greater degree. But it eventually spills over and affects others. And well that’s not good. When I say I’m not kind, it’s usually to those that are my world…which is crazy. What they do and say means more to me obviously than someone on the street so my feelings are much stronger towards them. And I take things personally…a little too easily. SO as Ellen says…be kind to one another.

Or better yet, as my creator says…verse of the week and it couldn’t have come at a better time.

Tootling Around

My super sexy man and I went tootling around in this old timey village Saturday. It was so incredibly peaceful.

A storm was on its way…pretty cool to see.

I guess I didn’t take many pictures of the houses and businesses but this is one…it was built in like the 1820s or something.

We also took a carriage ride…I can’t even imagine traveling like that for real.

For some reason I didn’t get the carriage…oops.

Just for me

As I hurriedly cruised through the halls of my place of employment this afternoon (stuffing my face), I looked down to discover this…

Distractions

The mind is very powerful. Like scarily so. In both good and bad ways. I’ve been trying to stay on top of my A game and not succumb to the black hole that is my head but it’s hard. Very hard. And I slip a lot.

Using distractions has helped, some. A few of my distractions include…

1. Blasting music and jammin out! Seriously, music soothes my soul.
2. Playing w/ this little guy. I can act silly w/ him and not fear judgement.

3. Giving/volunteering time or money. A great way to take the focus off yourself.
4. Exercise. Those hours each day are all mine. Jumping rope, btw, is killer.
5. Joining a group of some sort. I’m in my second season of volleyball w/ my church league and it’s been a lot of fun.

Things that have not worked for me…

1. Cruising the Facebook feed.
2. Expecting things from others.
3. Sharing my feelings.
4. Dreaming of vacations, ha.
5. Trying to control things I Cant.
6. Thinking that my plan is superior to His.

My goal right now is to (selfishly) maintain my sanity so I think I need to stick w/ the top 5 distractions.

Sister Date!

I’m not sure if y’all are aware but I have the best sister in the world. Well the best family
A couple wks ago we went on a date, just us, which rarely happens anymore. Where did we go…the shooting range! It was a lot of fun.

I never hit the X but got close. It was a bit harder than I thought it would be.
